Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 championships have been earned on hard courts
A comeback Medvedev claimed his maiden trophy for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The Russian, a ex- number one, has had a difficult period, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and suffering a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in particular - resulted in him falling of the top ten and eventually separating with former coach Cervara.
Presently training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set triumph over opponent Moutet.
It is the player's maiden championship since the Rome competition and initial on a hard court from March of that year.
Success also signifies he has achieved 21 victories at 21 various competitions.
"For the first time I have attended a competition with my two daughters at once, so to win a championship is particularly special," said world number 14 Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my child my daughter, because the first title I won when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his last six championship matches, including in Halle previously this season.
The player's counter-punching strategy and recurring reactions on court had led commentators to doubt if his capacity to perform at the elite level was finished.
However the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, striving to approach the net and perform positively, backed up by an enhanced serve.
He recovered from a break down in the first set against the challenging Moutet, securing four of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.
Both players exchanged breaks in the second set before the challenger, striving for his initial ATP Tour title, took control to create a decider.
Moutet saved 4 early opportunities in a close third set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to close out the victory.
Fittingly, the winner clinched victory with a shot at the net, with Moutet incapable to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
